Agenda for the Ordinary Meeting of Kilkenny County Council to be held on Monday 21st April, 2008, at 3 p.m. in Council Chamber, County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny.

Housing Disposal – Tithíocht Díuscairt
(i) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest in Site No. 1 at Paulstown to Chris & Michelle Lanigan in accordance with the terms of the Housing Acts 1966 to 2002” (Notification issued to members on 10th Aprill, 2008)
(ii) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest in Main Street, Urlingford, Co. Kilkenny to Patrick & Kathleen Power in accordance with the terms of the Housing Acts 1966 to 2002” (Notification issued to members on 10th April, 2008”.
(iii) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest at Kiltorcan, Ballyhale, Co. Kilkenny to Terence & Marion Keogh in accordance with the terms of the Housing Acts 1966 to 2002”. (Notification issued to members on 10th April, 2008)
(iv) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest in 29 Tuar na Blatha, Abbeylands, Ferrybank, Kilkenny to Aisling Kelly in accordance with the terms of the Housing Acts 1966 to 2002” (Notification issued to members on 10th April, 2008)
(v) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest in Tullabrin, Johnswell, Kilkenny to Richard and Lorraine Shelly in accordance with the terms of the Housing Acts 1966 to 2002” (Notification issued to members on 10th April, 2008)
(vi) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest in 3 High Street, Inistioge to Emily Nikken in accordance with the terms of the Housing Acts 1966 to 2002”. (Notification issued to members on 10th April, 2008)

  1. Other Disposal -Díuscairt Eile

(i) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest in land (derelict site) at Kilmoganny, Co. Kilkenny to the Ossory Diocesan Trust for the nominal sum of €10.00 in accordance with details contained in the Notice served under Section 183 of the Local Government Act, 2001”.        (Notice sent to members on the 9th April, 2008).         

(ii) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest in land adjoining 22, Kilkenny Road, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny to Derek & Karin Brennan, 22, Kilkenny Road, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny for the sum of €4,500.00 in accordance with Section 183 of the Local Government Act, 2001”.  (Notice sent to members on the 9th April, 2008).     

(iii) “That Kilkenny County Council hereby approves of the disposal of its interest in land at Crowbally, Dungarvan, Co. Kilkenny to Stephen Kinsella, Crowbally, Dungarvan, Co. Kilkenny for the sum of €6,500.00 in accordance with Section 183 of the Local Government Act, 2001”.   (Notice sent to members on the 9th April, 2008).

        7(08)       Limerick County Council – January 2008
”That, Limerick County Council adopts a motion of no   
       confidence in the Health Services Executive (HSE) and calls upon the Government and the Minister for Health to abolish  the  HSE and replace it with an efficient body who would have the professionalism and commitment to deliver a modern and effective Health Service for Cystic Fibrosis patients, especially young adult patients who are born with this life threatening  disease;  furthermore, that this motion be circulated to all local authorities seeking their support for same.”

“That this Council writes to the Government supporting the  Irish Guide Dogs for  the Blind appeal for an increase in funding and further more, that this motion be circulated to all Local Authorities for their support”.

“That this Council calls on the Minister for Education Mary Hanafin to upgrade the Waterford Institute of Technology to University Status of the South East Region”.

  11(08)         Clones Town Council – 7th March, 2008          
“That Clones Town Council note the increase in Agency employment throughout the economy. We are aware that many workers from Ireland and abroad are offered agency employment when they are seeking direct and permanent employment. We understand that trade unions have raised concern that many of these workers are retained on minimum conditions and in some instances are not receiving their full entitlements. This Council hereby resolves that Agency employment or as a mechanism for avoidance of fair pay and conditions. Noting that legislation will come before the Oireachtas on the issue of Agency Employment, Clones Town Council believe and recommend to the Minister that the Principle of equal treatment should be included in any such legislation on this issue”.

12(08)             South Dublin County Council – 14th March, 2008
“That this Council write to the Minister for Health and to the HSE demanding that appropriate action be taken immediately so that medical and support services, at local regional and national levels, for persons with CF be provided to the highest international standards as a matter of urgency and that the letter be copied to all other County and City Councils requesting their support”.

“That the members of Leitrim County Council call on the Department of Transport, Irish Rail and the Haulage Industry to enter into discussions with a view to providing a viable and workable Freight Service on all mainline rail lines and that this motion be circulated to each local authority seeking their support for the motion”.

“That this Council call on the Government to introduce change to the way the Housing Agencies Respond and Cluid operate, so as to allow tenants with those agencies to purchase their homes as is the given right of all other social housing tenants also that the same terms and conditions of sale would apply”.
